Emotional Detachment - Anytime that my husband teaches there is a sort of emotional detachment that comes between us. His emotions and mind are very much elsewhere. They are zoned in and focused on what the Lord has to say and teach at that particular study. I used the word emotions rather than heart because his heart is with me, his focus is just elsewhere.
It's during these times that we need to be extra vigilant to spend all the more time in HIS presence, getting that connection and love from THE ONE who can fulfill all our needs and desires.
We carry a great privilege in having husbands that LOVE God deeply and want to give ALL for HIM. They have a deep, deep passion for the lost and we are an integral part of enabling them to fulfill their call when we come alongside them in prayer and support and really just cheering them on.
Lifting them up with God's promises when they come home defeated and rejoicing with them when they have great victory. All of this means that we need to be deeply rooted and built up in JESUS so that when they come home we are ready and willing to minister to them rather then dumping our baggage on them!
Your husband doesn't have to be a pastor to experience these times of separation, any deadline or project or business trip can cause this and in those times our Lord is wanting all the more to minister to us and provide for us in a special way. In turn, we will have nothing but joyful overflow to pour out on our husbands!
And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. - 2 Corinthians 9:8
